MYCOPHENOLATE MOFETIL 180 MG TABLETS work as an immunosuppressant. It is used with other medicines to prevent the body from rejecting the newly transplanted organ. It weakens the body’s immune system so it does not attack the transplanted organ. The dose of this tablet depends on the type of transplant. While taking the dose patient must follow the doctor’s advice. This medicine can be taken with or without food. It may show some side effects like nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, headache, high blood pressure, and a change in the number of white blood cells.
Indications for its use

Mechanism of action
Mycophenolate Mofetil is a prodrug that gets converted to mycophenolic acid rapidly when it enters the body. The mycophenolic acid inhibits inosine monophosphate dehydrogenase, an enzyme which is very crucial in the proliferation of T and B lymphocytes. This results in suppression of the immune response and reduces the risk of transplant rejection.
Dosage and administration
The dosages of Mycophenolate Mofetil must be prescribed by a doctor or healthcare provider and must follow their advice to avoid any unwanted conditions. Some of the recommended dosages are:
- For adults, the recommended dosage is 1000g twice daily
- The tablets come as 180mg tablets, so dosing may require multiple tablets to reach the required amount.
Administration
- Must consume it on an empty stomach 1 or 2 hours before a meal
- Swallow the tablet as a whole
- Do not crush, chew, or break it
